Holographic Realms is a multimedia art collective creating large-scale environments from fog, mist, projected light, sound, sensors and real-time media. I lead concept development and technical architecture across projection systems, show control, generative media, spatial sensing, fabrication and live deployment. The recurring idea: remove the screen, the headset and the controller, and let the body become part of the interface.

Challenge

Projecting convincing holographic imagery in physical space is a systems problem. Mist has to be shaped and sustained, projectors synchronized and aligned, generative content rendered and controlled live, sensors translated into input, and all of it has to survive real venues with real crowds, power constraints and weather.

Solution

I architect each installation end to end: projection and fog or mist canvas design, multi-projector synchronization up to eight projectors, networking, sensor input and live show control. Generative pipelines built in ComfyUI feed TouchDesigner and Resolume for real-time playback, audio analysis drives shaders and geometry for live music collaborations, and depth cameras, body tracking and hand tracking make audiences part of the system. I lead concept, technical design, fabrication, installation, calibration, show operation and teardown.

Outcome

A growing family of touring works: Space Donut, a 25-foot halo ring projecting onto mist; The Octagon, eight synchronized projectors converging in a fog-filled walk-in volume; Creation Matrix, a two-projector 8-foot fog cube; The Portal, a walk-through mist doorway; and The Void, projection with no visible screen. Selected appearances include SideBurn, Geary Art Crawl, Lakes of Fire, Hyperborea, Harvest Festival and Love Burn, alongside venue installations, music events and artist collaborations across North America.
